upbeat? what is that*... because that's what i look for when i interpret psytance for house... i think the sound has to be bit unknown, a bit unfamiliar (too-well-known? runs), mysterious yet 'like' the more popular tracks in their undiscovered, un-commercialized, un-corporate state...
antonym downbeat (pessimistic)... that will send em fleeing!
down tempo? "Downtempo (or Downbeat) is a laid-back electronic music style similar to ambient music, but usually with a beat or groove unlike the beatless ..." (wikipedia) (hehe... looks for some of it... speeds it maybe... it is amazing how genres can transform with tempo shift...)
